Tiritiri Matangi

Tiritiri Matangi Island is a stunning living testament to the conservation and biodiversity pioneers who had the foresight to realise what might be achieved with this bold experiment. Thirty years on with countless thousands of natives partly recreating what the island once was, Tiritiri Matangi is home to many endangered native bird species. So successful has this model been other groups are restoring Motuihe, Motutapu, Motuora and Rakino in the Hauraki Gulf. Translocated birds from Tiritiri Matangi are now repopulating mainland islands like Ark in the Park, and also naturally spreading into adjacent areas in Mahurangi. Paradigm has worked with the Supporters of Tiritiri Matangi for many years designing and producing signage and publication work. In 2008-9 Paradigm worked with Rick Pearson Associates and Chris Gaskin of Natural Lines to design the interpretation in the island’s visitor centre.
